Have Courage And Be Kind To Yourself

Sharon Rigley

BABCP – Integrative Psychotherapist / CBT. Member of The British Association Of Behavioural And Cognitive Psychotherapies

After navigating a difficult chapter in my own life, I experienced the healing power of counselling—through compassion, understanding, and support. That transformative journey gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a deep desire to help others facing their own mental health challenges.

Inspired by this experience, and guided by the question “What’s next?”, I chose to train and qualify as a counsellor.

Today, I’m committed to trauma-informed practice and believe that healing begins with kindness and self-compassion, especially during life’s most challenging moments.

Reaching out for support takes great courage, but it also opens the door to meaningful change. If you're looking for a safe, compassionate space to be heard without judgment, I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery and healing.

Client Testimonials

Psychotherapy and CBT

I offer Psychotherapy and CBT, combining empathy with evidence-based approaches to support your mental well-being.

My work is rooted in the belief that each person holds the strength and wisdom to navigate life’s challenges—I’m here to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and a safe space to reconnect with your resilience and inner strength.

A safe space

Seeking therapeutic support is a courageous act of self-care. Whether you're navigating life’s challenges, exploring personal growth, or simply need a safe space to talk, reaching out is a powerful step toward healing.

I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supportedespecially during life’s most difficult moments.

Interests

I have a special interest in men’s mental health, shaped by my personal experiences as a mother and sister.

I understand the unique challenges men face when seeking support in a society that often discourages emotional openness.

I also support women navigating hormonal changes such as perimenopause and menopause, drawing from my own journey toward balance and well-being during these transitions.

Trauma

I have extensive experience working with trauma and always offer a trauma-informed approach.

I believe those who have lived through trauma are the experts of their own experiences.

My role is to walk alongside you—offering guidance, belief, and support—as you explore how trauma impacts you today.

Together, we can make sense of your responses, with compassion and without blame, recognising they are natural reactions to overwhelming experiences.

I strive to create a safe and compassionate space that allows people to explore their deepest and often darkest thoughts and feelings without judgement and make connections that offer understanding, kindness and compassion that will allow them to achieve meaningful change in their lives.

Weekly sessions are encouraged, especially early on, as they help build trust, consistency, and emotional momentum—laying the foundation for meaningful change. If CBT is the approach you choose, we will collaboratively set small, achievable goals and agree on practical tasks to support your progress between sessions.

Location

In our fast-paced world, online psychotherapy offers a flexible and effective way to access support. You can connect with me from the comfort of your home or any space where you feel safe and relaxed.

Research shows that online sessions—via Zoom or phone—are as impactful as in-person therapy, allowing for deep connection and growth without the added stress of travel or

scheduling conflicts.

Fees & Cancellations

Following your free initial consultation, sessions are £50, payable by bank transfer 24 hours in

advance.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice, so the time can be offered to someone else. Cancellations with less notice will be charged the full session fee. I understand that unexpected situations arise, and will always do my best to be flexible in cases of illness or emergency.
